Programme of the trip

Day 1 – Friday

Early morning (8am), we welcome you and say goodbye to Tallinn. We drive to Haapsalu and see its main highlights – the charming city centre, the castle, promenade, and  Haapsalu railway station.

We continue our journey south, towards the summer capital of Estonia – Pärnu. We start with an orientation walk in the city center and by the popular beach area, and later there will be some free time for lunch on your own. Our tour manager will recommend some nice cafes and restaurants.

In the afternoon, we will visit Viljandi –  a folklore-hearted little town located on the shore of a picturesque lake. We continue to Tartu, which will be our home for the next two nights.

Tartu is the second biggest city of Estonia, also known as the student capital or a university town, as it hosts the biggest university in Estonia. Our tour manager will advise you where to find restaurants with student-friendly prices and how to spend your free evening there.

Day 2 – Saturday

We enjoy breakfast in our hotel, and head out to discover the most important, and in fact, the most beautiful places in South-Estonia: the highest “mountain” in all the Baltics, called Suur Munamägi, the deepest lake in Estonia in Rõuge, the town of Võru, and the winter capital of Estonia – Otepää.

We also go to visit the funny town of Valga-Valka, a border city with Latvia, where you can enjoy some Latvian ice-cream. We have lunch in Võru and after that we drive back to Tartu. Today we have a walking tour in the famous university-city Tartu, followed by free time in the city. Possible to visit AHHAA Science Center (student price 12 eur) or Aura Water Center (student price 12 eur) on your own. We will advise you again, where to go out for dinner and what else to do in Tartu on a Saturday evening.

Day 3 – Sunday

On the last day of our tour, we head towards East-Estonia and pass by the lake Peipsi – tho in Estonia.

In the afternoon we arrive in Narva – the city on the border with Russia. You will have some free time for lunch, and later our local guide will give us a city tour in the autumn capital of Estonia. We’ll have a stop next to the castle that is just across the river from Russia. On the way back to Tallinn, we have a stop at the highest waterfall of Estonia – Valaste waterfall. This area was recently renovated and gives a good opportunity to enjoy a small hike, get nice views and touch the sea water. The drive from Narva to Tallinn is around three hours and you will enjoy your dinner already at home.
